The European Union is making approximately €60 million available to support SMEs and knowledge institutions in North-West Brabant in their transition to climate-neutral business. This ‘Just Transition Fund’ (JTF) is expected to open at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. To prepare for this and create opportunities together, the Province of North Brabant, the City of Breda and Stimulus Program Management are organising a network meeting for entrepreneurs on Wednesday 28 September.
About the Just Transition Fund (JTF)
Companies are facing major challenges, such as the energy and raw materials transition. In the run-up to 2050, CO2 emissions must be drastically reduced and fossil fuels abandoned. This transition has many benefits, but also involves financial and socio-economic challenges. Think, for example, of the investment in sustainable energy sources and raw materials or the retraining of employees.
With the Just Transition Fund, the European Union supports specific areas that will be hardest hit by the transition to climate neutrality. The subsidy is used for projects in the field of labour market, innovation and investments in technology, systems and infrastructure. The West-North Brabant region is one of the six regions in the Netherlands that qualify for this subsidy programme. During the network meeting, we will be happy to tell you more about the subsidy possibilities, the application process and the bodies you can turn to for answers and advice. We also offer you the opportunity to spar and network.
Preliminary programme
We will start with a networking lunch. Then several companies will present their ideas, including Peter Wolfs of TNO on Innovation for a Climate Neutral West-North Brabant. You can also speed-date with entrepreneurs. In addition, we are organising a panel discussion on the challenges surrounding the energy and raw materials transition.
